I have a 2nd generation SE phone with 64 GB capacity. I don’t believe this series of phone will support a plan with 5G. Thoughts?

you can get significantly faster speeds than standard 4G on a 4G phone with a Public Mobile 5G plan, often reaching speeds well above the old 100 Mbps cap, potentially near the 250 Mbps advertised for 5G plans, as your phone connects to the same underlying networks (Bell/Telus) but without the 4G speed limit, even if you don't see the "5G" icon. While you won't get true 5G speeds (like 500+ Mbps) because your phone hardware is limited, you'll get the best speed your 4G device supports on the upgraded network infrastructure.

The 5G is just the speed that you will use for data. So you would be able to access it with this phone.

For 5G plans the speed is up to 250MBS.

for VoLTE talk / text, your iPhone SE will do nicely. For data, you'll be relying on 4G. Your 64GB capacity is smallish but just don't download large vid files. I still have that same cell that I use as a standby phone for myself and others. I've loaned it out to other seniors, for demonstration purposes...get'em used to smart phone.

You can go to https://willmyphonework.net/ and input your phone manufacturer, model of phone, and country. If it says it works with TELUS (or Bell since they pretty much share the same network), it'll work with no issues.

Unfortrunately, the above isn't entirely accurate because of the way that the Public Mobile systems are very particular when it comes to which devices are allowed to use VoLTE.
