Hello.

Yes, you are correct. Select a temporary number and make sure everything works properly as it should. THEN, once you're ready to port, log into your account and use this link to port over.

https://myaccount.publicmobile.ca/en/account/profile/transfer-phone-number

Then make sure your Rogers SIM card is in the phone to accept the port request as you'll have 1.5 hours to do so. Once your Rogers SIM card goes to SOS at the top, the port is complete. Turn off phone, remove Rogers SIM card, replace with PM SIM card and restart phone. It MAY have Rogers networking information still in your phone so you may not have full connection to the PM network. For that, you just go into your settings, reset your network settings and then reboot. You should then be forced on to the PM network and everything should work as normal.

Hi, I'm switching over from Rogers, and I'd like to keep my current phone number. I've read a number of posts advising to get a temporary number from PM first, to ensure everything will go smoothly, but I'm not sure where in the process I receive a temporary number? I just want to be sure I can keep my current number. Can someone please confirm I've got the steps down correctly?

At this point, I'm at "Step 5: Set up Number". Do I choose "Select Number" and pick a random number in my city to receive a phone number? And I'll be able to port my Rogers number over afterwards, at which point my Rogers plan will be cancelled? Or will I be assigned a temporary number when using "Transfer Number" instead?

Thank you!
