In case anyone is experiencing this problem, I believe it is caused by restoring a backup from a previous device. My guess is the previous backup contains some saved data that stops the app from functioning.

I had the exact same issue as described here, and the only solution after trying everything was resetting my phone completely and starting from scratch by erasing all data. It’s very unfortunate - in my case I was happy with this as starting from scratch speeds up your phone a TON, but it’s not ideal in general.

I have a new iphone. I am trying to get cellular service on it. According to MP instructions I have to get an esim from the app, on the new phone. The app was in queue for 9 hours. I got fed up and called Apple as I was going to return the phone. Somehow, by fluke we got the app to download to new phone. It involved pressing the icon a number of times. After the app was downloaded, it could not find a network even though it was on wifi. How do i get an esim on an esim only device that has issues connecting to the internet? An apple store is too far away

Log in to your account and buy an esim… it should end up being free as it’s a replacement.

Thanks for response, apple person had me do this. But I did it again, the app was downloaded on wifi. Wifi is on and connected. PM app says “ Network Unavailable. Please ensure you have a stable internet connection or that you’re connected to wi-fi. I’m done. It looks like i have to go to Bell or rogers to get an esim.

I tried just about everything, the phone was wiped and os installed three times, i did a network reset. Apple said it was a carrier issue and the carrier’s remedies were to reset network. I returned the phone to apple as it could not operate as a phone.
