1-800 numbers not working?

I was reading that some users are having problems with 1-8xx numbers. What gives?

We used to have problems with some 1-877 numbers, but I think they fixed all that.

No. I just read that it's still happening right now.

Does having a long distance plan work as a workaround in the interim?

just keep trying the 1800 number eventually it will connect
I've tested and usually the 5 try will go through

Is it absolutely confirmed that getting a LD plan solves this issue (at the expense of paid minutes).

Also, is this an issue with Canada-wide calling, or just province-wide calling?

My wife has a Canada-wide plan but no extra LD add-on.

1-800-465-5463 - TD

A lot of people are having problems with this number. However, some say it sometimes works after many multiple tries.

Not sure why it's not working for you without an add-on. Which province are you in? I'm located in Ontario and it called and connected on my first try.

I don't have an account yet. My wife does but it is Canada wide. I'd like to know if it works on a Province wide account, with and without an LD add-on, or if it's just a random error. (I'm thinking of getting a line with Province-wide.) People on RFD are saying this number and other 8xx numbers don't always work. This was as of yesterday.

@Eug I realised I had a mistake in my original reply. The number worked fine for me. I don't have any add-ons and I'm on the new promo plan.

Td works for me...I can call 1-800-430-6095.

I am on province wide talk plan.

Impossible to call 1-800-344-3370

I get the following message: "The number you have dialed is not available in your area at this time"

Someone please explain why or can someone fix this for me please?

I get the same message when I try and call. Let’s tag a mod and see what they say. @CS_Agent

If you need to call this number urgently, please send a private message to the mods/customer service rep and explain the issue in detail. Hopefully the can fix it rather quickly. Pleased keep me updated here.
