Hello I would like to be able to call to Uruguay from here. Can I buy minutes?

No sorry, Uruguay is not part of any Long distance calling add-on PM offers. You cannot call Uruguay with PM. Need traditional calling call or app to call

If you are ok with wifi calling (or data, although not yet tested) you could use VoIP.ms along with their voip.ms calling app.

Rates are as found:

VoIP.ms charges calls to Uruguay in six-second increments, at a rate of $0.44 USD per minute for Uruguay landlines and mobile phones, based on a rate sheet from 2022. Rates are billed in US Dollars (USD) and are applied in six-second intervals, meaning a longer call is rounded up to the next six-second increment.

You would have to get a DID (phone number) with them as well. Monthly charge for a DID is 85 cents a month. And you can set up a VoIP.ms account to provide a caller ID as your mobile number. And you can also set up call forwarding to you mobile number but that’s a combined in/out charge and would have to confirm that it would be the local calling rates. They also offer texting….that I would NOT do, and voicemail that is emailed to you..which I would do. Basically it could be set up that outbound from you would have to be over wifi but inbound to you could be over your mobile phone.
