There are so many phones that will work with Public Mobile and the 4G network but for some stubborn reason, Public Mobile won't allow it.

To confirm if your phone will work with Public Mobile, please see this link. At the bottom of the page, you can insert your IMEI number and the system will advise you if it will work with Public Mobile.

https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/get-help/articles/volte

When 3G finally ends in Canada, hoping Public Mobile has epiphany and realize that if they allow more 4G acceptable phones on their network, it will bring them more customers and more profit.

Hello Party People!

I recently acquired the above phone and set it up off my old LG K20. When I went to hook it up to my SIM, it recognized the SIM, who the service provider was, and that was it. No data functionability.

I checked compatibilty sites, and talked with the ChatBot, and the ChatBot gave me this list of frequencies for 4G

When I checked the phone specs, I got a warning in the fine print that this phone will NOT work with Telus. After I'd bought the phone, I get that in the fine print. Grrr...

So I checked the relative frequencies, and there's many in common.

So it looks like there are frequencies in common. Is there something I'm missing?

I like the phone very much, and wish to keep it. Are there settings I can change to get it to work?

Thanks in advance.

The Dude

I just don't get why a 4G phone with a 4G subscription with Public Mobile won't work on a 4G system with many overlapping 4G frequencies.

Why does it have to be so difficult? Can I change something in the phone, or do I reset it and return it? (PS: It's a really cool phone)

OK, I got stubborn and put my head down and got into it. I received an email to copy the old settings off my LG, so I went back and reinstalled my SIM, compared everything to what you wrote here, and saved it.

I then out my SIM back in my Ulefone and rebooted. Still no luck.

The only significant difference I could see was the Proxy was set at 74.49.0.18 on the settings and Port was set to 80. On your list, I see Port and Proxy were unspecified, so I wrote them down (carefully) and deleted and saved.

One more reboot and BOOM!

It all works. 3G became 4G (on an earlier attempt), and internet works.

Thanks so much everyone for the help.
