topic eSIM back to SIM card? in Get Support

I manage the phone accounts in our household. We have three. All of them are with public, but as some of you know, it means each one has its own login account. There’s no such thing as a family plan. Yesterday ,with my new iPhone 17, I went to install the eSIM onto my phone. For whatever reason I must have logged in incorrectly and accidentally put my wife’s eSIM onto my phone. When I realize what I had done, I immediately removed it from my phone. The kicker here is that my wife is in Europe and now we are wondering when she comes back will she be able to use her SIM card again or is the card now irrelevant ?

on top of this I can’t get back into that account that I logged into because I can’t authenticate the code that it is sending me and it does not give me an option to use email! ugh

hi @cr_user

yes, the login could be cached and hence when you login, it got mixed up

there is a high chance she has no phone when she comes back. Once an eSIM for an account is setup, the old physical sim card would be invalid

if you need to change back to physical sim for her, buy a PM sim from Telus or Koodo or Mobile Klink store for $10 or Amazon for $5. Then login her account (better to use Incognito/private/secret mode on the browser to avoid cache issue and got the mixed up with account), and go to Profile page and update the sim card number

Thank you. However I can't login, because the only way to authenticate is to receive the 6 digit code after username/password. Since the eSIM was removed, and the card will now be useless, there is no way to get to the portal. I will note, that for my account there is an option for email code, but for her account, there is not. I do not know why that is the case

WHY did you want to switch to eSIM if physical SIM was working fine?
