If you check today, there is a new $18/m plan that is available to all users. You may have some success in switching down to that plan when your plan renews next (that is an option when you go to switch your plan). Once you're on that plan, you will then be able to see other plans that are the same price and more expensive. The issue that you are likely facing is that PM doesn't allow users to downgrade. This new plan is one of the few times that users are able to do so.

Good luck!

Hi, my wife and I switched our plans (from 3GB to 60GB) for the summer to have more data as we were traveling. Now I see the lowest data plan we are being offered is 20GB for $8 more than what we signed up with (3GB). We mainly use wifi and don't need the extra data. Why are we locked out of the lower data plans now?

sorry @dc_talk22 , you can only change to plans offered on your My Account. if the plan is not showing there, you cannot change to it. With that, if your old plan not showing on your My Account's Change Subscription page, you can't change it back. Support cannot help either

I understand your concern regarding the plan restrictions, especially when you’re seeing certain plans available for new activations but not for existing customers. I also understand your frustration, particularly since you’ve experienced a similar issue in the past and had it resolved.

At Public Mobile, they sometimes, offer promotional plans that are only available to new activations or under specific conditions. While I understand this may not seem ideal, these promotions are part of their efforts to attract new customers. That said, they always aim to provide value and fairness to our existing customers as well.

If you'd like, put a ticket and contact the support team. They will further assist you!

We appreciate your loyalty and thank you for being a part of the Public Mobile community.

Best regards,

Once plans are upgraded it is impossible to downgrade them. So you are stuck with the higher plan.

Sometimes, very seldom PM does allow to downgrade plan to a cheaper one but that happen 'once in a blue moon'.
Checking PM account weekly you might be lucky to see one of those offers.

As mentioned above do NOT create a ticket to agent as they CANNOT downgrade your plan and you will be wasting your and their time.

The thing is, I signed my mother up at the same time. She didn't need more data for the summer and so has been on the same plan since we signed up in May or June. She's paying $22 a month for 3GB data. That's all she needs. PM will only offer my wife and I a $35 (with tax) a month plan with 20GB. I only used 3GB this past month. I don't need it all.
