I was able to use Textnow and Fongo without issue

Only issue is Fongo cannot send text for free

But it is true, both cannot receive 2FA for free

But again, both VOIP app is not a solution for Text to Email

I there I searched the forums and there does not seem to be anything recent on this.

Is it possible to redirect incoming text messages to my email address? Or at least copy them to email.

I am going through my settings in the portal and do not see anything obvious.

This is what this new fancy AI says.

Automatically Forwarding Text Messages (Using a Service)

Download: the IFTTT app or visit its website.
Create: an account and create a new applet.
Set up: a trigger, such as receiving a message from a specific sender.
Set up: the action to forward the message content to your email.
Activate: the applet to start automatically forwarding messages.

Thanks for the reply but that sounds like it assumes I can get the texts in the first place. I am going to a country where I might not be able to get texts.

voip.ms VOIP lines have this ability you can switch it on within their portal to get a copy of all incoming texts in your email. The problem is that it does not seem to work from the country in question. I already have a ticket open with them about it.

I understand your dilemma now. The only idea or option that most folks here recommend here on the forum is to download an app called TextNow. Pick a local number to where you live. Then, just before you leave (test it first to make sure it's set) is with most phones, iPhone for sure as I'm not an Android guy, you can set an auto reply for every text message that comes in. "Hey, this is Alan. I'm currently out of the country. If you wish to reach me, call or text me at ###-###-#### as this number works globally. - And while you're abroad, you can purchase a data SIM card for that location or an eSIM if you're phone can do them. You'll be able to receive calls and text messages to that TextNow number via data or WiFi. That is the only idea I can come up with at this moment. Hope this gives you an idea or maybe sparks a better idea. Cheers mate and have a safe trip.

Second, TextNow will work around the world on WiFi or data. Do you have a VPN on your phone? If so, choose a Canadian IP address. This may work. I understand you purchased the Global texting plan and it's not working. Not sure if you're using a stable WiFi or data SIM. You may wish to contact Fongo on it and get them to assist you. If it won't work, I'd ask for a refund. But if you can find a free VPN for your phone, that might resolve it.
