why the sim card does not work on the new phone? If the sim card is physically too big, there should be frame you can peel it off to make it smaller

But if you need to buy new one, no worries, you can keep the same account and phone number. But a new PM sim card from Telus or Koodo store or Amazon and go to My Account -> Profile and update sim number

I recently purchased a new android phone but the Public Mobile sim card that currently have doesn't work in my new phone. Do I have to purchase a new SIM card to work in my new phone? I don't want to change my account or make a new account. How can we manage this matter going forward? Thanks.

If card is properly activated and it is of proper size (format) it should work in any phone accepting physical SIM cards.

I suggest you try your SIM in another phone to determine where issue is (phone or card) before you purchase new SIM card.
