Contracting a plan from outside Canada

Hello,

My son will be taking Grade 11 in Canada (Nova Scotia) next year as part of an international program. Can we sign him up for a Public Mobile plan from outside Canada, specifically from Spain?

Hello @Ramon3

No. Or maybe. Rule of thumb, you need to have a Canadian Android Store account or a Canadian Apple account to download Canadian apps. Furthermore, you'd need a Canadian credit card to sign up. NOW, with the "maybe", I can't say for sure this would work BUT if you had a VPN and was able to choose a Canadian IP address and changed your app store to the Canadian store, you MAY be able to download the Public Mobile app. This is just conjecture though.

In my honest opinion, I'd suggest him waiting to get to Canada to sign up. Much easier that way.
