turn cell OFF.

Remove sim.

Replace sim.

Restart.

I did reboot a few times. Did not help the issue. I don't have another phone to try the SIM card in.

very rare (if ever) for the sim to fail (unless someone has taken it out and wrecked it). Best is to get to a cell repair shop to test the sim in a different cell. That'll tell you if sim is broke or cell is broke. See if there's a Mobile Klinik in your area.
