I currently have the old $15 100CW/250MB plan. When I noticed recently that there is a new version of this plan which doubles the data and make the Canada-wide talk and text unlimited, I decided to switch. While checking over the other available plans, I noticed that the $19 and $20 plans had also been upgraded by giving them an additional 1GB of data.

Several months ago, we had upgraded my wife's plan,, from $15 250MB to the $20 2GB plan. She doesn't use anything like 2GB/cycle but she was regularly eating through all of her 250MB and using her data add-ons. Since the comparable new plans listed are $19 2GB and $20 3GB plans, I thought I'd save a buck and drop her down to the $19 plan - it'd gie her the same amount of data. Imagine my surprise when I saw that this plan was not available for her to switch to. It was offered to me, so I know it isn't a "new customers only" offer. It's not a huge deal, since there is only a $1 difference, buy why is it not an option for her? What gives?

sorry @TP666

PM is going different plan change options based on your current plan. Download is possible but you won't get as many choices and also depends on your current plan. Subscribers having plans $25 or below usually don't get plans lower than that. Sorry about it, but it is what it is .

Some might suggest to ask PM support agent, but it was confirmed that they cannot help with choosing plans not available on your profile

That's normal these days, not just at Public. What you are offered is dynamically generated and any downgrade offers are typically so insultingly bad that you won't use them. My brother - don't know what provider he's on but not Public - did exactly that, upgrade to a high-data plan for a month while traveling and then couldn't downgrade, and he actually called them and threatened to switch providers, and they magically turned the downgrade option on again for him. I knew full well when taking the "bait" to upgrade from $$15/month, 250GB to $19/month, 2GB that (1) the downgrade option would disappear and (2) the upgrade option was "take it or leave it" and may not continue to be offered.

What was fun, again on another provider. My mom was on a $40/4GB plan for ages. Just for the heck of it I went online to see what other options there are. Hellooo? a $40/75GB plan. So if she's paying the $40 anyway, why not auto-upgrade her? Two mouse clicks and she had 75GB. But until that moment there was also a $29/25GB plan. Maybe that's good enough? But now that's not an option any more.
