Roaming fee outside of hometown

I have $29 per month plan, 20 gb. I am based in montreal. If I travel to Victoria BC and use my phone to call and receive call. Will I be charged roaming fee since I'm outside of my hometown montreal?

Almost all plans have Canada wide minutes, so there is no roaming charges . And $29 plans come with Canada wide minutes, so no roaming (and Data is always Canada wide)

(Only small number of plans from 3 or 4 years ago have provincial only minutes)

@slusagm You will never have a roaming fee for traveling . Public mobile is pre paid service and you. An only use what you have paid for so you will never have a surprise bill . But that plan will work anywheres in Canada that you have no worries

You should go into your profile and look at your plan. Read what it says. It is my understanding that there are some plans meant only to be used in Montreal. I'm not saying the plan you have is for that, but just look at your plan to confirm.

hi @Che2 your $29 plan is not a Quebec only plan (only some plans are Quebec only, but none of those is S29), so you can use your service in BC or anywhere in Canada , all included

For cellular phone service, the term roaming refers to connecting to a different company's network. Going from one city to another in itself isn't considered roaming (on any carrier).

Even the customer had a province-wide calling plan, there still wouldn't be any roaming charges. Going from Montreal to Victoria isn't roaming. As for the question about if calls could be made and received while in Victoria, if a customer were hypothetically on a province-wide calling plan, the customer could still be able to make calls within BC while in Victoria and still be able to receive calls. Public Mobile has never enforced long distance rules/charges for incoming calls and for the outgoing calls, the fact that the number is from Montreal would make no difference, although the customer would need some Canada-wide long distance minutes to make calls outside of the province currently travelling in.

But yes, none of the above makes any difference if the customer has Canada-wide calling.
