Correct?

I actually have two iPhones. One is Telus (Primary) (eSIM) and T-Mobile (US) (Secondary) (SIM) and the other is Public Mobile (Primary) (eSIM) and TextNow (Secondary) (SIM). iPhones can handle 2 active eSIMs or 1 eSIM and 1 SIM card at the same time. However, iPhones can have up to 8 different eSIM profiles. But once again, only 2 can be active at once. This is why you just turn the line off of others you're not using rather than deleting them.

My phone can have 2 Sim cards thus giving me 2 different phone numbers. I'm starting a business and want to know if I can avoid buying a second phone buying just using this dual Sim feature do I have to constantly switch between both Sims or can I always receive calls on my current phone number and tge new business phone number? I assume I would need to have 2 seperate monthly plans as well?

hi @Darham77

with dual sim phone, you can always receive calls and text with both number, don't need to switch back and forth

you just need to go to Settings->Cellular or the Sim Manager screen to setup the default sim to use for outgoing calls and text and data (they can be different for the different services). And even a default is set, you can easily override it

Yes, you would have to have 2 separate accounts. You could use the same email but one has to be an alias:
abcde@gmail.com and abc.de@gmail.com. That way all email will into one mailbox.

I believe as having two 'numbers' on one phone you would not have to switch from one to another in order to receive calls as each esim will function as 'separate' phone.

I hope somebody with more esim practical experience will clarify (so the rest of us learn)! And it is interesting - how would phone know which esim you would use for outgoing calls????

Most likely you should be able to assign different ringing sound for each esim. that is a feature of your phone, not PM service.

I have multiple phone numbers myself. On one phone I have Telus. Telus is set as my Primary. So when a number comes calling in, there's a P beside the number. That means they are calling my Primary number. If I remember correctly, I assigned a letter to the secondary number to the name of the US service provider. Therefore I know who's calling what. Plus, I have set ringtones to each number so when it rings, I know which line is ringing. It's pretty simple actually. Good luck.
