Phantom data usage

I am noticing my phone is consuming quite a bit of cellular data while my phone is connected to Wi-Fi and I am asleep at home.

Generally this is around 100mb per night but something it is much more. One night (May 18th) 1.4gb were consumed.

This is using up the majority of my data plan allotment for the billing cycle. Since May 1st 9.5gb of phantom data has been consumed.

Public Mobile updates their data usage twice daily. You may think it's being used overnight, however, it's the previous 12 hours it was used. Personally, I have a Widget on my screen that turns data on and off and I keep my low data plan off and only turn it one when I'm out and need it.

PM does not update the data usage constantly. In fact, it only update it twice a day.

So, any entry you see is just a total usage between that timestamp and the timestamp of the previous entry. The early morning usage you see on the Usage log does not mean it was used in the morning but a total usage for the last 12 hours.

Also, for correct usage reading, always use Incognito mode to login My Account to avoid reading cached old info
