I’ll be going away to the Caribbean.

I have a few add-ons that are for INTL minutes but I was wondering if those only work if I’m calling in Canada elsewhere, or if I’m in the Caribbean and calling Canada.

Also, does international texting work the same way?

Hello @Julia_

Public Mobile only works in Canada, the USA and Mexico. It will not work anywhere else. You will have to look at getting something like this for overseas. If you want to call back to friends and family back in Canada, download an app like TextNow and pick a local number.

You will need to purchase a local SIM or use WhatsApp when connected to wifi for free calling and texting or connected to the local SIM data.

if you want, you could download the free TextNow voip app. You'll select a free Cdn number so you can send / rec calls & texts while away from Canada. It uses local wifi and if you buy a travel data plan ...that will work for TextNow as well. Most hotels, resorts, cafes etc have free wifi now...you might just have to ask for their wifi password.
