Hi Public Mobile,

I would like to inquire about how it would work to use my cell phone internationally outside of Canada? Would I require a new SIM card or another plan?

@Tia_777 Your Public Mobile phone will only work in Canada (and the USA and Mexico with appropriate plans/add ons) but no other country. So it depends where you are planning to go. For USA and Mexico you would not need a new sim card but you would need another plan if yours is Canada only

PM only has roaming service for US and Mexico. For US, you can buy roaming add-on , or join one of the Canada/US/Mexico plan

but for Mexico, you can only get the service with Canada/US/Mexico plan

and PM does not have roaming service for other countries. So, you will have to buy local data sim or travel esim. But you won't be able to receive calls or text to your PM phonenumber

Thanks for the info. So you’re saying I would need to buy a local SIM card when I get to my location? What about iMessage for iPhones? Won’t that work?

iMessage or Facetime will continue to work as long as you have even Wifi, so will definitely work if you have buy local sim or travel esim

remember, you won't receive bank's 2FA. If you need it, change to receive via email or via authenticator app instead
