if you have VoLTE working in Canada, you will get VoLTE in US as well. So, you won't have problem with voice

when you are in US, you can use T-Mobile, AT&T or Verizon, they will all give you VoLTE

Samsung S23 will for sure have VoLTE

I've read the various posts about VoLTE/Roaming in the United States and they are confusing. I have a Canada/US Public Mobile plan. I have a new Honor Magic v3 phone that works flawlessly with my Public Mobile physical SIM here in Canada. Voice calls work on 5G with VoLTE (my voice calls don't drop to 3G). I am travelling to the United States and want some assurance I can use my phone there. T-Mobile has a device compatibility page, and when I enter the imei for my phone it says it is fully compatible on their networks, including VoLTE and 5G.

So my question is: if the phone works fine here, and T-Mobile says it is compatible on their networks, will it work in the United States while roaming on T-Mobile? The so called "Public Mobile whitelist" is seriously out of date as it lists the Samsung Galaxy s23 series but not the s24 or s25 series. I can swap phones with my wife and take her Samsung Galaxy s25 Ultra, but I would rather take my own phone.

The only way to update the whitelist is for members to pass along their experiences with VoLTE while in the USA. Since VoLTE works fine in Canada…it should be fine in the USA.

UPDATE: Despite the Telus, AT&T, and Verizon compatibility checkers saying my phone was not VoLTE compatible on their networks (only T-Mobile confirmed compatibility), it worked seamlessly as it connected between AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile towers throughout the Southern United States. VoLTE and 5G worked on all those networks with my Public Mobile SIM.

Yes, voice calls worked fine and never dropped from 5G or LTE to the now obsolete 3G.
