I am in Canada. I am going to Europe. Can I use my phone? Do I need to get a different plan?Thanks.

Your Public Mobile account will not work in Europe. They do not have roaming outside of North America.

You will only be able to use Wi-Fi.

However some people do purchase European eSIM if they really need to stay connected.

Public Mobile has no roaming outside N America as previously suggested. One option that's widely used is...download the free WhatsApp. With it, you'll be able to talk / text with other WhatsApp subscribers for free using local wifi or separately purchased data. Get your fam and friends to download WhatsApp and enjoy free communication that way.

Here's a comprehensive guide to European e-sims and finding the right e-sim plan for your needs. If you use a voip app like either Textnow or Fongo you can save $$ by getting a data only plan since those voip apps only require mobile data or wifi for their calling and texting features.

You should also be able to use your unconditional call forwarding to redirect incoming calls to your Public Mobile phone # to ring thru to your voip app's phone # (as long as you choose a Canadian phone #).

*Just be sure to not let your PM sim card while in your phone to connect to a US cell tower after call forwarding to your voip # or it will default back to your voicemail.
