In case anyone is wondering you can grab data from two phones into your new phone with Samsung Smart Switch. I now have the text messages from both my previous phones onto this new one!

Upgrading from LG G8x to Samsung S24, connected to WiFi fine but it wants either a Sim card or some kind of transfer which i don't think old phone has. If i want to go with esim how would i do this, it does not seem to have this option?

Also any reason to do so or will the old sim card work?

Finally is there a way to transfer text message history from old phone to new? Is this perhaps built in and i just have not got that far?

TIA

Everything will transfer over to the Samsung phone. I would use the eSIM while travelling abroad if I need a local SIM where roaming is not available.

Must i install this app this before putting the sim in the new phone or can i do it after?

Also can i do the same and get my older text messages off my even older Motorola phone or is this a one phone thing? Would be great to have all old text messages from last two phones all on this new phone.
