Can you sign up for a new account but set up a future port date? I need to keep my service active for another 8 days. Also does it actually just take 5 hours to port like the website says including weekends?

Sign up with Public Mobile, get a temporary number and make sure ALL things work properly like calling texting and data. Then wait till the 6th day and make sure your other account is active and then you can port over your other number using this link.

https://myaccount.publicmobile.ca/en/account/profile/transfer-phone-number

you can sign up new PM account now and choose a new number for now.

when you are ready, then you login your Pm My Account and select Transfer phone number

however, if your old account still have 8 days, it is not bad to start the porting process now. Yes, the porting process usually done within couple hours, but it might have problem and sometimes it drags on couple days. So, don't wait till last day to port your line here

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have had my service for about 20 days. Have both Sims active and my speed test here in Vancouver is faster with my esim than with Rogers. I paid for the 5G so I don't know if the 3G has anything to do with my plan. So far so good. My question was more for a second account I'm moving over and I will wait. Rogers gave me a free month but if I cancel before end of that bill cycle I will pay for 2 accounts for that month. Oh by the way Rogers sucks.
