Group text messages not working

I have an s23 and all my groupchats are messed up. Mostly when messaging with iphones, the messages in a groupchat send all out of order and I can't understand what's being said. Also whenever someone sends a message in a groupchat I get sent a download icon in our personal chat, but it doesn't do anything. Sometimes I can't send messages in a groupchat either even if I have perfect signal. Also maybe related my phones doesn't like to use sms sometimes and my messages won't go through without being in rcs even if I still have signal.

@Marls32 Could try uninstalling the message app and reinstall it see if they helps

when you click Send, it will show whether it send RCS or SMS, you can hold and change the type of message

or if you like think it is a problem with the app, you can try clear cache first and test out for anther couple days

last thing to try, uninstall Google Message and reinstall after a reboot

I dont see that option on my phone, how would I do that?

if you want to uninstall and reinstall, launch Google Play Store, find Google Message, then uninstall (it will uninstall all the updates and leave the very old version there, but it is ok)

you can then reboot the phone. Go back to Google store and find Google Message, click Update

@Marls32 In phone settings find the app and uninstall it . With iPhone I know you can just hold down on the app and uninstall/ remove the app might be same for android

With Android, you can uninstall it by going to Settings->App, and you will see Google Message there, and you can click Uninstall at the bottom. It will actually restore back to the version it came with the phone

Then Reboot your phone and go to Google Play Store, search for Google Message and you will see Update, click to install

Do you have data turned on? This sounds like what happens when it's off.
