Thanks for the help but its not a number i can change as it is my "billing account number" with my "existing service provider". It did not start with a zero but had a zero on the end that i dropped off. My service provider just called me to confirm so it worked out fine in my case.

I am in the process of signing up. The Public Mobile (PM) sign in process asked for my previous service provider's account number. PM says it is 9 digits, but my old one is 10 digits. What do I do? I just dropper the last right hand digit.

What I would do is sign up first, get a temporary number and make sure every aspect of it works first. Make sure you can make and take calls. Make sure you can text and receive them. Make sure data works as it should. Once all is said and done, you can then go into your account and port your number. You WILL be required to place your old providers SIM card back in the phone to get a text that requests your approval. Here is a link on where to change it when you're ready.

https://myaccount.publicmobile.ca/en/account/profile/transfer-phone-number

Never mind. My service provider just called me to confirm I wanted to change my service over to PM. They said the #digits for the account number doesn't matter, as they called me to confirm that I asked for the transfer. That is the nice thing about having someone to talk to. I will miss that, but not the prices. 🙂
