Hello - can you offer an update on public mobile coverage in the Kawartha and Peterborough after the ICESTORM (March 28 - April 1). We have very little to zero coverage (Fenelon Falls, Bobcaygeon, Peterborough). Of course hydro is out in many places but it would be nice to get a Public Mobile update on Cell Towers etc.

you should refer to the Telus Outage reports as Telus is the parent company. (They also use Rogers towers too)

Telus is showing no outage (which is ridiculous) and then I tried chat hell but its trying to sell me a phone.

You can only shake your fist at the sky in that situation.

If power lines are down, people's wifi (home and business) go down. Everybody then switches to using mobile cellular data. Even if all the cell towers are working, the local towers are overloaded by the traffic and speeds slow to a stop. This happened to us last year. Hang in there.

many have reported that power is back on but internet is still hit & miss in many areas. Sounds like it could be some time yet before internet is back to normal in all affected areas.

Most helpful - thank you for navigating this with Public mobile for me and yes this region would be overloading the towers likely! do you know if there is Any change in billing during these disruptions? While act of nature - many utilities are recognizing the degradation in their billing?

I doubt any carrier will voluntarily refund all subscribers for any such service interruptions unless you ask for it. In the "Service Terms", subscribers acknowledge that such interruptions can occur. However, the terms are silent with respect to refunds in such situations. For example, I have received a bill credit for Service Issues like dropped calls in the past.

Therefore, it does not hurt for you to try. You can open a ticket with a customer service agent using the chat box, or message them directly:
