you cannot

PM does not have roaming service in Taiwan, they only have it in US and Mexico

if friend sending you text, you will have to use VoIP app like TextNow . You will then able to send and receive text from the number assigned by TextNow

if 2FA text, sorry, no way to receive while you are away

Yes, some will ask you to use Whatsapp or iMessage if you just message with friends

you won't be using the same number. The PM number won't be able to send and receive calls and texts when you are in Taiwan

For the VoIP app TextNow, if you are in Taiwan already, not sure if you can still install and setup. Try. Download the install TextNow, it will give you another 10 digits phone number for you to make calls and text on the app

if you cannot use TextNow, you can try Fongo app. Fongo allows you to send and receive calls and receive text on the app (still use another 10 digits number), but sending or reply text cost extra

No. Textnow would give you a free different telephone number to use. And note that you have to use it on a regular basis. Otherwise you will lose the number and you will have to subscribe for a new free number (unless you pay a subscription to keep it).

WhatsApp is a better app. Many people use it. You can use it to text, telephone and video chat.

Adding to your comment about using the same number on a VoIP app like WhatsApp. Yes, WhatsApp will use your PM number but all parties must also have this app to work.
