International texting details please

What does unlimited international texting actually mean? I have read that it only means that people can text you, but it appears I may not be able to text outside of Canada? If this is true, it is false advertising to say it offers unlimited international texting. Can someone clarify please?

I travel in the US and live in Mexico for several months of the year and need to know the actual limitations of Public Mobile's service.

yes, international text just mean you are free to text anyone when you are in Canada and you are able to receive text from anyone who text you when you are in Canada

when you are outside of Canada, you can only text and receive if you have roaming (that is true for any carrier). But with PM, it only has roaming support in US and Mexico. You have to get the proper roaming plan or roaming addon

You can only text internationally while you are in Canada.
If you are on the Canada/USA/Mexico, you can call and text while you are in the 3 countries.

If you and your family and friends are on the WhatsApp. You can text anywhere in the world on wifi or your data.

I remain a bit confused. How does one go about getting roaming support for the US and Mexico? The advertising for the plan indicates that I have international US/Can/Mexico.

And what does it cost? And do I need a roaming plan for calls/date as well as texts when in the US/Mexico?

The advertising for the $29 Can/Us/Mexico plan indicates it is unlimited, which to my mind means unlimited. Is it actually unlimited or do I have to get roaming for the US and Mexico, for texting, for data, for voice mail...?

If you have the $29 Can-US-Mex plan, you can text internationally from Canada, the United States or Mexico. It is unlimited and all included in your plan and you do not have to pay any extra for any roaming add-on.

The fine print #2 are:

This plan will include roaming, texting and calling in all 3 countries. No additional roaming will be charged.

If you are in the USA, make sure that VoLTE (voice over LTE) is enabled and that your phone is on the list of whitelist phones that will work for calling in the USA.

@Alice777 , just to further clarify & add to what some may have missed (if you’re unsure) … the data in that plan is not unlimited. The data will stop working after you use up the 20gb of data included in that plan.
