I hear what you're saying. If I had a $23 plan, I'd hold on to it so I'd be offered future promotions above $23. With a $29 plan, I will only ever be offered promotions over $29.

The new $29/20gig plan is only for the next 3 days, and for new subscriptions only.
I tried cancelling my subscription to start a new one but my billing/subscription cycle ends in 2 weeks.
It's not like I'm trying to downgrade to a cheaper plan, I'd be paying the same amount.

You HAVE to see that plan on your account in order to subscribe to it otherwise it is for new customers only.

@Crumbum

I am currently on $23 6GB 4G plan. The $29 20GB 5G Can-US-Mex plan and the same $23 are both available to me if I want to change subscription. However, if I changed to $29, I know that the $23 option will no longer be available to me.

PM tries to encourage their existing customers to upgrade to a more expensive plan and makes it difficult to switch to a cheaper or same priced plan.

You can try contacting a customer agent to see if they will help you to switch. They used to do it in the past but not in the last few years. It doesn't hurt for you to try. At least it will let PM know that existing customers wishes PM would change their policy.

I know that you feel ripped off that you are spending the same money for half of the data. But do you really use that much data at this time? Most people do not. People should resist the lure of unnecessary big data and just wait for something much better when they actually need it. The trend is that for about the same price, plans are getting much more data and more roaming. Two years ago, $25 only got me 1GB 3G. It would not surprise me if in a few years $30 may eventually buy 50GB 5G with global roaming.
