Why cant i call australia?

Hello,

I am trying to call Australia but it says its not connecting even though its the correct number. The number i am trying to call is +61 131171.

I tried asking the live chat but there was no one there, just the stupid AI bot that doesnt understand my question.

we need to buy the proper Long distance call add-on to call overseas. Did you buy ahead? If not, login My Account, go to Buy add-on and pick the one saying International Long Distance addon. Buy first and call after

@authenticsaniga , that phone number seems rather short. Google says Australian numbers are 3 digit area code and 8 digit number.

Yeh its the phone number for VicRoads in Victoria. You can look up the number if you want.

131171 is just the beginning part of the number? Australia number does not have area code start with a 1

@abtest actually + country code can be used to replace 011 country code

Have you tried using this dialing format when calling from Canada ?

If you are in another country, call us on +61 3 7073 9600

The 500 minutes International LD calling in your plan doesn’t include Australia.

Only calls to China, Hong Kong, Philippines, India, Pakistan, Taiwan and UK.

You need to purchase the 300 International Long Distance minutes for $15. Unused minutes will roll over to the following month.

@authenticsaniga , my mistake, Australia is just 8 digit number. I misread the google search. I did try calling the number. It does not work, not sure why as I have a whole bunch of international long distance minutes in my account.

I just tried +61370739600 and it worked fine.
