I currently have the following subscription:

75GB of data for use within Canada, US & Mexico at 5G speed up to 250 Mbps
Unlimited Canada, US & Mexico minutes and messaging plus unlimited international text and picture messaging
1000 monthly long-distance mins to China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, and the UK
Call Display, Voicemail, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding & Conference Calling

My question is does this give me roaming in the US without purchasing an additional addon? and can I text as well? or do I still need to purchase the addon?

Pls don't rant at me for travelling to the US! we have a new grandson and even though we would not normally travel at this time we will for the sake of family.

@Ferguson Yes you can use it in all 3 countries calling text and data with no extra charges . Just make sure you have data roaming turned on in phone settings and that you connect to T mobile AT&T or Verizon and you good to go , enjoy your trip 🙂

This package is all you need for using to and from the US. You don't need to purchase anything else, no extra fees.

Just ensure you have a VoLTE enabled phone on PM whitelist or you will most likely be unable to make calls within the US or to Canada.

YES! All 3 countries are calls/sms free. No additional charges will be charged wherever you are in those 3 countries (assuming you will be able to connect to tower and have service from partnered providers).

yup @Ferguson

no additional roaming addon needed after you got this plan. Just turn on Mobile roaming data and make sure the phone connects to T-Mobile /AT&T/ Verizon, then you can use data/text/voice services like you are in Canada

when you get to USA or even close to the border, you'll get a text.."Welcome to USA" and instructions to buy talk add-on...you can just ignore that message altogether. Enjoy the new addition to your family.

The Telus white list is quite old. That's one of the drawbacks of relying on rarely current white lists. T-Mobile says my device should work in US but if it's not on Telus's list will it still work in US??

Don’t worry, you can use data and text in US without any addon. The only thing is to make sure the roaming is on in your phone settings.
