Hi, my wife is looking to switch with Public Mobile and she currently have a lg Velvet 5G (lg lm-g900um)

Anyone know if this device is compatible with Volte with Public Mobile?

@petergriffiny There are no LG phones on Public Mobile's approved VoLTE compatibility list here

@Mxt There are some phones not on PM's VoLTE list that do get VoLTE. Do you have this exact phone and can confirm that if you turn off wifi, turn on cellular data and make a phone call it doesn't switch to 3G?

hi @petergriffiny and @Mxt the phone has VoLTE but not on PM's whitelist. So, it won't work here with VoLTE, it will need 3G for voice

Could you clarify please, absolutely not what? To recap, you have this exact phone on Public Mobile and it does not drop to 3G for voice calls? Just over a year ago there was a thread saying this phone (although no model number) did not get VoLTE on Public Mobile. Some phones have been enabled for VoLTE by PM since then though. A phone can be VoLTE capable but not enabled by Public Mobile, which is why I'm asking for confirmation before the OP switches carriers.

hi @Mxt an agent told me PM added some phones on the whitelist. But LG phones are too old to add to be added on it so none of them will be added. It is true some might "slip" on for whatever reason, but we saw so many posts that those "slipped" on have got removed shortly after
