I have a Canada, US, Mexico plan and am looking to travel in the spring,

Is there anything I need to do to ensure I don’t get roaming charges, or do I just keep using my phone as usual?

nothing much to do, you want get extra roaming charge

Just make sure you turn on roaming mobile data. Make sure your phone connects to AT&T or T-Mobile or Verizon if you are in US or AT&T or Telcel for Mexico. You might need to manually connect, and connect using network mode 4G

Enable VoLTE (voice over LTE) but your phone must be on the whitelist for your phone to work.

https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/volte?_gl=1*1qks5fo*_gcl_aw*R0NMLjE3MzA4MTg5ODguQ2owS0NRaUFfcUc1QmhEVEFSSXNBQTBVSFNMOEoxTTZvTlpxSGFSd0h1RlBUa2owM3pfUldrc1R2b09wVk0yNTR6cjVuMmszeWdFSlctOGFBa2JDRUFMd193Y0I.*_gcl_dc*R0NMLjE3MzA4MTg5ODguQ2owS0NRaUFfcUc1QmhEVEFSSXNBQTBVSFNMOEoxTTZvTlpxSGFSd0h1RlBUa2owM3pfUldrc1R2b09wVk0yNTR6cjVuMmszeWdFSlctOGFBa2JDRUFMd193Y0I.*_gcl_au*OTI1ODcxOTYyLjE3MjU3NTU1OTk.*_ga*MTU1NjA2MTA5NS4xNjY5NzgwMTAy*_ga_5Q4XYYJ879*MTczMzQ2NjU5MC44LjEuMTczMzQ2NjYwMC41MC4wLjA.

Make sure to enabled Data Roaming (just leave it on as there's no overages or extra charges with Public Mobile pre-paid service) To dial Canada from Mx, dial +1, area code, number. While in Mx, you might connect to AT&T, Telcel or Movistar....we have best service with AT&T.

ed

When it comes to the whitelist ... Not necessarily... A lot of phones that are not on the list (like mine) just work perfectly. I would recommend going by the telus-tool to verify the status. There my phone shows up as supported. PMs list does not even list the brand I'm using.

Soooooo... Just as a suggestion...

Months later... But I'm not here all the time. I'm using a OnePlus 10 Pro 5G and an Oppo Find X6 Pro. Both working as they should. With 5G and VoLTE.
