Try all these ways to call Canadian and US number when you are in Mexico. (Some confirmed only one of these ways work for them, so really try them all)

+1 <area code> <7 digits>
001 <area code> <7 digits>
00+1 <area code> <7 digits> (key is to use a + in between the 00 , actual dial the plus sign, it does not mean concatenation)
00 1 <area code> <7 digits>

I'm in Mexico now and dial +1, area code, number...never fails for me. I've tried and failed with some other combinations but using +1 works every time. No pasa nada.
