I'm not sure that's answering my question. Are you saying the fact that it displays all incoming calls on 5G and LTE as Private Number is because my device has a problem?

I've recently switched from Pixel 6 Pro to Pixel 8 Pro. After restoring the backup onto the new phone, I noticed that all my incoming calls were displaying as Private Number. I've reset network settings, cleared cash and storage settings for the Phone app and contacts, cycled power to the phone multiple times, turned off and ON the SIM, nothing was fixing it. Finally I found that switching from the "Recommended" 5G to 3G as the Preferred Network Type under the SIM settings fixed the problem. I also noticed that besides the 5G, LTE also has the problem. So currently only the 3G network displays the incoming number and caller ID. 5G and LTE don't. Can you please check if there's a problem on the network for my account/ SIM ? Please, help me fix this. I'm paying for 5G, but am currently forced to use only the 3G, which is way too slow to be useful to me. Thank You.

It will pick the strongest signal whether it be 3G, 4G/LTE or 5G.

3G will be decommissioned this year so your only option will be 4G/LTE or 5G.

Caller ID is enabled, I checked. Also, like I said it displays the incoming number but only if the network is set to 3G. It does not work on LTE or 5G, which is what I need it to work on.

The fix for this was to first create a fresh backup to Google storage of the current install and all associated data. Next, Reset to Factory Defaults, set up from scratch (not restore from any backups, or other phones). Next, Reset to Factory Defaults again, but this time restore from the latest recently created backup. All worked fine after that.
