when I go to purchase a 15 day on for texting in US, will there be an option to use the points I have earned?

yes, you can redeem points for US add-on and it is actually cheaper

login My account, then click Rewards on top right to login My Rewards and then go to Catalogue to pick the US roaming add-on you want and redeem

it will add to your My Account and ready to be used within couple hours, so, you can do that right before your trip

Plus it all depends what plan you currently have. If it's only a few extra bucks to upgrade to a Canada US Mexico plan, that might have better value in the long run. Something to consider.

As long as you have 10 points in your account. It will be a talk and text bundle. Nothing for just texting.

To clarify you can't purchase add-ons partially in points. You need to either purchase add-ons with money/account funds OR directly with points, and they are in separate areas of your account.

15 day US talk and text add-on costs 10 points. Personally I always go for the $15 bill credit for 15 points.
