Re-activating E-sim while travelling

I received a text saying I needed to re-insert my sim or my number would expire for imessage and facetime. I'm currently overseas and using an e-sim for the countries I'm travelling in. Do I need to worry about losing my PM number in imessages and facetime? I'm still paying my account while I'm away.

as long as you continue to pay your Public Mobile account..everything will be working as expected when you return. Not sure what those messages are but don't think they're from PM.

As long as you are paying for your monthly payment. You won’t lose your number but you can keep the SIM in your phone and use the eSIM for your travel.
Just put the PM SIM in a ziplock back and keep it in a safe place.

The iMessage and FaceTime is linked to the primary SIM. Since you are not connected to a Telus tower. The notice is a normal notice.

So I don't need to do anything? I can just re-connect to my PM sim when I return and will still have access to imessages and facetime with my regular number? (First time doing this...)

Yup...soon as you return to Canada, your Public Mobile service will work as it always has...imessage and facetime included.

If would just leave the PM SIM in your phone and manually click on the eSIM while you are abroad. Go to Settings>Cellular>Network Selection and disable Automatic and click on the eSIM.
But try leaving on Automatic to see if it works first.
