Currently the Public Mobile sims are 3 in 1 and so you would have to remove the outer spacers to get down to the right size if that's the kind you have. How old is the sim card in your iPhone 3?

Edit - I just noticed you posted in another thread about transferring esim. Are you switching from physical sim card in the iPhone 3 to an esim in the 12?

There's actually no such thing as an iPhone 3, but yes, both the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS both used mini SIM. The iPhone 3G is actually the 2nd generation of the iPhone series. Mini SIM isn't actually the largest SIM card size, though I've never actually seen one that would be considered a full sized SIM card.

Hey @daisyjulie

Very simple actually. Just take the SIM card out of the phone, place it inside the new iPhone. Then restart your phone. Easy as that!

I wasn't sure when that type of adaptable sim became a thing at PM? Is it possible that the OP's sim is not that type, since the phone it's in is quite old? If so she will need a new physical sim or switch to esim, it's not clear which is being asked about between the two threads
