SMS not working

I am in Spain and am not receiving SMS messages. My wife is not receiving them either. Why is this?

@GabLeiva Because there is no PM service outside of Can, US and Mexico.

sorry @GabLeiva , this is normal as PM does not have roaming in Spain (they only have that for US and Mex)

so, if you are waiting for 2FA , you have to call the banks or so to rearrange another way for 2FA like email

@GabLeiva , depending on whether your devices supports RCS, turning it on will allow you to use the format for texting anywhere in the world as long as there is mobile data or WiFi available.

Texting should work with WhatsApp on wifi or on data on the local SIM in Spain.

I don't need to text, I need to receive SMS messages from companies domiciled in Canada (banks, credit cards providers, etc.).

actually most banks and businesses offer alternate ways to receive 2FA since they know SMS is the most unsafe option Most offer Authenticator app or use their own app to receive 2FA. Check with them first. User other ways to receive 2FA and stay with money saving carrier (PM) is a Win-Win situation

That's not accurate. Some of the largest banks do not offer alternate ways and I rather drop PM than my bank. Plus Freedom Mobile offers same/cheaper plans that include roaming in 50+ countries. Bye bye PM.
