I will be travelling to the US. I recently switched and purchased the monthly PM plan offering; 20 GB data within Canada-US-Mexico at 5G speed, unlimited Canada-US-Mexico wide minutes and messaging, plus international text and picture messaging. So when I’m travelling in the US, is that all I need to call and text within the US and to Canada? Do I need to be worried about “roaming” charges or any hidden charges or adding anything else to my plan to make my needs work? or am I good to go? TIA

@NewBird one good thing about Public Mobile is that there are never any hidden fees or charges. No roaming. You can leave roaming on. Texts and data will most likely work, but a lot of people have issues with being able to make and receive calls in the US.

It depends on your phone you have. It must be voLTE on PM whitelist.

https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/volte

The partners are AT&T and T-Mobile. You should leave your phone on manual connections and connect to whichever one it picks up.

hi @NewBird

no need to worry about extra charges

couple things to keep in mind

When you enter US, you will get a text saying you need roaming addon or so, don't panic, that is just a standard text send to everyone, with or without roaming service setup

make sure your phone has Roaming Mobile data turned on

your phone should automatically connect to one of the 3 roaming partners and work seamlessly. Just in case the Automatic network does not work, then you will manually change the network mode to 4G or LTE, then manually select T-Mobile, AT&T or Verizone. Try all 3 and stay with the one that works

and most important thing, Enjoy your trip!!
