I have a iphone SE 3rd generation. The spec. for the phone says it is 5G compactable. I switched from a 3G service to 4G , yet my phone indicates 3G service. I went to Settings - Cellular - Data Options - Voice & Data But the only options available are LTE or 3G . I'm paying for 4G plan and the phone is capable of 5G so why am I not able to receive the 4G signal?

This may clear the 3G problem and you should have LTE working correctly.

I also have iP SE 3rd gen...it has 5G, but for best functionality, I just set it to LTE. Battery lasts waaayy longer and very little difference in operation.

PS....could it be that you have an iP SE 2nd gen ? Double check on that as 2nd gen doesn't support 5G.
