If I purchase a roaming package for the US are there extra fees charge for making calls or texts from the US? Thanks.

Absolutely not!! If you buy an add on, there are no extra fees. That's the point of prepaid service. You pre pay for what you want so there are no surprises!! Depending on how many times a year you go to the US, there are some decent Canada US plans too. Meaning you can use your plan down in the US like you were back home.

I looked at the $35 us-ca-mx plan but it only mentions calls from Canada being covered. Does it cover calls made in US also without roaming fees?

Indeed it does. I have that plan a while back and while in Canada I was able to call down to the US and while in the US I was able to call friends and family in the US along with texting. As well I used a ton of data to FaceTime to friends in US and back in Canada. No extra fees.

the only fly in that ointment is ...for best talkability, you must have a VoLTE capable cellphone that PM has recognized. Without an eligible VoLTE enabled phone, you won't be able to make / rec calls whilst in USA. You can download the free WhatsApp and use your plan data or local wifi to make / rec calls from others with that app...for free.
