buy the sim card from Amazon for only $5:

you can still do it even you got the sim card from Amazon

make sure your old account is still active
get the old account number
download PM app and subscribe.
at the payment step, remember to put in a friend code which get you the $10 credit 72 hours after activation
You will be asked about phone number after payment step. Enter the phone number and old account number
the old carrier will send you a sms text, reply yes within 90 mins
then wait till the old sim no longer work, you can put your PM sim card in the phone and all done

Another option @lxh is you can buy an eSIM which is $5 if your phone can do one. Best part, if you lose your phone or get a new one, you just download another and it's free! If you lose your phone, you keep paying $5-$10 each time for a SIM card. Just saying there are options.

What do you mean your previous number? Were you a customer here before in the last 89 days or are you talking about porting your number from a different service provider?

just in case you are existing customer, then it is easy. After you got the sim card, login My Account, go to Profile and update the sim card number. Then put the sim card in the phone and reboot and bingo!!
