Can I use my current phone plan in New York? If it is possible, I have a few questions:

1. When I arrive in New York, how can I send a text message and make a phone call to my friend in New York?

2. Can I use the remaining data from Canada while in New York?

only if you have Canda/US/Mex or Canada/US plan or if you have US roaming

1. just send as usual, as long as you have the plan or addon

2, depends on if you have the plan or addon

3. if you have the above plans, no; if you don't, you need to buy roaming addon

what plan do you have now?

if you don't have the proper roaming plan that includes roaming for free, you will have to buy raoming add-on to use the service in US. You can buy the bundle for $30 with 3GB data for 15 days.

It depends on what plan you are on.

If you have the Canada and USA (also Mexico) plan then Yes.

Also, enable Roaming and VoLTE if your phone is on the whitelist.

you can remove the screenshot as it shows your account number. Just go back to the message, click down arrow and Update Message

you have the correct plan to use the service free in US like you are in Canada, no extra to pay

just make sure you turn on Mobile roaming data on the phone. Make sure your phone connect to T-Mobile, AT&T or Verizon (if it does not connect well on one network, manually try others) and set the network mode to 4G or LTE
