US Roaming Talk and Text Add-On Question

Hello,

I recently purchased the 15 day unlimited talk and text option for the US, through rewards, and was curious on how it works. With this plan am I able to call and text people in Canada while I am in the US? Also, my phone is not on the VoLTE whitelist, as I have a Pixel 3a. Will I still be able to talk and text while I am in the US? Thank you for your help.

@YK3 Your roaming add on means that you can call from either place to either place and people call you as they normally do. I'm not sure if your SMS is affected by this next point. Without a VOLTE phone you may not be able to make or receive phone calls. You will need to manually select a TMobile 2G network to join if it is available. They are getting harder to find as TMobile shuts more 2G down. You are better off with that phone getting the US data add on and using an app like TextNow to make and receive calls.

Edit: I assume you are in the US now?

Since the phone isn't on the VoLTE list and won't work in the US, I'd suggest reaching out to a CS Agent and ask if they can credit your account since your phone wasn't VoLTE able.

This has been an ongoing issue for a very long time. We need a wider list of phones to be able to use VoLTE on.
