Using 5G plan on 4g phone

I want to move my wife’s phone over to public mobile. Her phone is only 4g, and I want to get her a Canadian-US plan. They only come with 5g. I assume that her 4g phone will work OK on this. Can anyone confirm?

yes, it will work without problem

5G plan is just about speed, you can get up to 250Mpbs with the plan.

with a 4G phone, you can connect to 4G network and still get the same top speed at 250Mpbs.

So, no problem to change to the Canada-US plan that you want

@GlennRW Yes and you can still bet better speeds then 4G plan with 4G phone on 5G plan. But when jn the U.S. if wife’s phone is.not on the PM voLTE whitelist making calls will be difficult and she will have to rely on 2G and connect to T mobile for voice or use text now app or what’s app for voice but text and data will fine
