Hello. My 80 year old mum has the 1gig $25 plan. I've noticed the plan now is $19 but when I go to switch subscription it does not offer it. Is this for new customers?. Do I cancel her plan and start from scratch?. Very perplexed with telus yet again! The only one offered is $25 for 10 gigs but not needed. Thank you kindly for your answers in advance.

you can only change to plan available on your account, if you don't see it, you cannot change that

moving down the plan is hard these days. With a $25 plan, I don't think you have any choice below $25 at all

@Westcoast123, if you really want the cost savings you'll need to port out to another company since as others have mentioned Public Mobile is not playing friendly with plan downgrades. If you port out to another company you could come back later and get the plans that are offered for new customers only but you will need to use a different email address to create the account and you will need to get a new SIM (or eSIM) and would lose any friend referrals if you had any.

@Westcoast123 Back when everyone was changed to the points system, the $19 with 1GB was offered to existing customers for a while then for some reason it became new activations only where it seemingly remains. Your mum might be interested in the $100 a year plan with Telus, which works out to about $8.33 a month. There's currently a promotion that gives unlimited calls and texts plus 2GB of data a month for the next year. After that it reverts to 400 calls and 400 texts a year and no data. But if that's not enough then she could come back to Public Mobile as a new customer. She can take her current phone number with her.
