You could try to connect to T mobile 2G network for voice calling, but network is hit and miss.       <title>American roaming - data service</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The last two times I have gone to the states I have bought a text/voice calling package and both times I could send and receive text messages but couldn't do either for calls.&amp;nbsp; So my question is very specific: To those who have had the same problem - did data work for you?&amp;nbsp; I was thinking I could use a voice app for calling in the states if it did.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/366826"&gt;@Jethro_82&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp; Without a VoLTE phone you should still be able to use text and data. &amp;nbsp;But data won't work on the text/voice add-on of course, in which case you'd need to go up to the talk/text/3GB roaming data plan. &amp;nbsp;You might want to consider switching to a Canada-US-Mexico plan instead which would give you a lot more data and not need an add on. &amp;nbsp;Although in some areas T-Mobile's 2G might still work with just the talk/text add on, their 2G was supposedly being shut down this past September.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes you could use a service like TextNow to make calls over WiFi. You won't have cellular data if you're only buying the text/calling add-on though. Might be worth looking into upgrading your phone if you make frequent trips to hr US.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
