nice deal for a 5G plan! i personally dont need it, but im sure some out there can take advantage. It does sound like there could be some good black friday deals too that might be worth holding out for, remember they will only offer you plans *above* your current plan rate.

I'm waiting to go the other way...I have a senior friend who is interested in PM for a simple talk only plan for emergency use. He isn't a data user or text'er...just wants talk only. Seems Public isn't interested in those customers any longer.

@AK32 i agree somewhat with ya as I can still downgrade my plan now from $34 plan to $30 plan but just not worth for the extra $4 to me . So basically yess no free downgrade option anymore

@hairbag1 Maybe your senior friend would be interested in the Telus $100 a year plan, usually 400 mins of talk and 400 texts but currently on offer with unlimited both plus 2GB data a month for a year with a bonus promo code

I wonder how many people actually need the long-distance minutes. The list of countries is so limited, and so random. For most customers, $2 off would be a better choice.

My current plan is $34/50Gb Canada-US 5G. You think there will be better deals than that on Black Friday?

@Pvkom26 I’m hopeful that black Friday brings more attractive plan offerings next month and if not then in 2 months come x mass / Boxing Day sales both months in years past proved good to consumers for deals , so just stay tuned and keeping checking in every few days on the website and community for the latest

If you have the $34, you likely can't downgrade to a cheaper plan. If you log in to your plan Subscription and look at currently offered plans to you...you'll see none cheaper right now. PM has trapped many customers into higher priced plans with no way to easily downgrade.

@hairbag1 @Pvkom26 I am currently on the $34/50 GB 5G Can-US plan. In my account I have one plan offered that is lower in price, $30/15 GB 4G. A no brainer to stay where I am for now....

Yes, I get that, but at the same time 8 years ago 6 Gb for $34 was considered a cool deal (I think even paid $40 for that on Freedom Mobile). Maybe in 6 years Public will reveal a plan where 50Gb goes for $19. Would be a shame not being able to downgrade easily.

That said, the fact that some cheaper plans do show up as an option, gives me glimpse of hope. And I guess, even in the worst case scenario, you could always contact CS Agent and threaten to leave if they don’t downgrade… Or try switching to another provider with a cheaper plan and $0 eSIM for a month, only to come back the month after as a “new customer” to Public. I once almost did that to upgrade from $34/40Gb to $34/50Gb Canada-US.

It’s an awesome plan, by the way. Was expecting something like $34/60Gb this BF, but looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer for that.

LoL don't be greedy, the plans are good already. we used to only got 3GB with $35. Now $35 gets you roaming all the way to Meixco

@Pvkom26 Hahahah your right when I joined PM in 2018 is was 5GB for $40 and that was amazing deal at the time as for the 60GB for $34 that has been a thing already got that earlier this year so I’m hoping you thought on 50GB $19 comes next year:)

I’m not greedy, that’s a pretty realistic expectation. You yourself noticed we were getting 3Gb for the same price some time ago - same observation I shared in my post above.

Another thing I said is that $34/50Gb is an awesome plan. So you can rest easy knowing that I am satisfied.
