How long does SIM card take to arrive roughly?

I am located near Toronto and was wondering how long the SIM card actually takes to arrive. I see that it says ships in two business days, but I may consider just picking up the SIM from Telus store if the shipping would take a while to receive.

@OceanS Can take as long as 3 weeks to order from PM site so Telus / Koodo store fastest way or if you want to order from Amazon $4.99 there right now

Is there anything special I need to do at the store? Or would it be just walk in and buy just the SIM card for $5/10? After that do I set up my plan through the app?

@OceanS Just buy sim and Once you have SIM card in hand just download the app to activate it . And after you make payment on step 6 you will have option to transfer old number from previously carrier or pick new PM phone number . But if transferring number make sure you don’t cancel the old provider and just use old providers account number and ignore the IMEI it’s not needed . Leaving old providers sim in the phone to reply YES to the confirmation text to port . Once successfully ported to PM it will automatically close the old phone / account for you

but also make sure if you want to port number that it can be ported first

Okay. I plan on waiting to port my number for a few months but will port it in January. That will not be an issue at all? I also plan on using this PM SIM card in a secondary phone temporarily until I buy a new phone for it to go in. Will that also not be an issue? When I finally want to port my number do I need to have my old SIM card in the phone I will be using for Public or just in any phone to accept port?

@OceanS No , no problem at all You can port number after picking temp PM phone number monthes later or even years later . But old providers account needs to be active and in your account profile page “transfer number” and follow the prompts and follow steps I mentioned in last reply for successful number transfer . And just move the PM SIM card from old phone and put it into the new phone

Yes you need your previous carrier's sim in a phone to respond YES to the port authorization from them. It doesn't have to be the new phone. Now wouldn't be a good time to order a sim direct from Public Mobile because they come by Canada Post, who are on strike.
