topic I messages will not work in Get Support

I messages will not work

I tried all the steps provided online. Unfortunetly when i go to choose my # instead of my email it gives me this error message. i cannot send text messages from my number only my email shows up. Also people cannot text me unless i close off i messages. Help

can you receive incoming calls? and incoming text?

maybe a problem you need Apple instead of PM

Yes i can receive calls and text if i message is off. The problem is since the switch with public mobile

try this
turn off iMessage, restart your phone
Start by opening Settings > Messages, and tap the iMessage toggle to turn it off.
Then restart your phone, open Settings > Messages again, and tap the iMessage toggle to turn it back on. Sign out of Apple ID/Apple Account, then sign back in
